Take a
Stand on GE Food Labeling
More than 90% of Americans want to know
when we’re eating genetically engineered (GE) food. Up to 80% of
non-organic food on our shelves contains a GE ingredient. We’re
concerned, and rightly so.
Much of the rest of the world — including
Japan, Australia, the European Union and China — require genetically
engineered foods to be clearly labeled. But in the U.S., biotech companies
like Monsanto enjoy unfettered and unlabeled access to the market.
Just label it: It’s time, and we have a
right to know. Along with more than 300 organizations, we’re urging the
FDA to require labeling of GE foods. Will you join us?
For too long, biotech companies like
Monsanto have exerted undue influence on our food system while making
promises they fail to keep. After 14 years of commercialization, and
millions of dollars in publicly funded research, the agricultural biotech
industry has yet to deliver on the drought-resistant, high-yield products
promised. Their GE seeds require more pesticide use, not less.
Now they expect the public to simply
trust that their products are safe.
Take Action: Please
sign the petition today and ask the FDA to require transparency and
labeling. We have a right to know what’s in our food. And no, we don’t
trust the broken promises of biotech. Just label it.
