Oakleaf Lettuce is a loose leaf lettuce that, like it's name is shaped like oak
leaves. It is unique in that it is very heat tolerant so may be grown and
harvested in hot weather. Even when the weather is hot Oakleaf is not bitter and
retains it's sweet, somewhat nutty flavor. Lettuce is great plant to grow in containers, sow seeds into a large pot, and
place it in a sunny position. Pretty as a border in the
flower garden too.
It's delicious, easy and fun for kids
to grow.
